In a magical land, far, far away
Once upon a Rogue’s Tale is a roguelite deckbuilding and card game that takes inspiration from games such as Dark Souls and Yu-Gi-Oh, combining the best of both worlds into something fresh and unique for all players of ages to try. Players can try out the game's free demo at any time.
In this game, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Frog Prince have found themselves entangled in an endless adventurous fairytale. Players will have to guide these classic fairy tale heroes if they want to survive and live to tell the tale as they fight through this entangled mess.
Classic fairytales retold
The game allows you to choose from three characters: Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Frog Prince. Each of these characters has their own motivations which led them to the good or evil side, yet ultimately, the decision is up to the player. In this game, your choices matter.
Revisit the famous fairytales in a wholesome anime inspired artstyle as you fight your way through waves of enemies as you uncover events that will confront the player with its own tough decisions. With a fun dice and card gameplay system, players will find many ways to accomplish their mission.
For all its good things, there are also the bad things. The game is still in Early Access, meaning that the game can be buggy, if not stable, at times which can severely affect the player’s gameplay. On top of that, the game's high difficulty means that players will have to buckle up for a long ride.
Happily ever after
Once upon a Rogue’s Tale combines the unique traits of roguelite and card building games into something fresh and unique that can bring an entertaining experience for both new and experienced players alike. Although it is still in Early Access, it is still a game worth trying, as well as its free demo.
